The Hsiung Lab is interested in synthetic gene regulation, combinatorial functional genomics, and tissue biology. We develop molecular tools and conceptual frameworks for systematically and efficiently surveying numerous combinations of genetic perturbations using CRISPR. We apply such combinatorial genetic perturbations for understanding and engineering gene regulation and cell differentiation control. We are also developing functional genomics approaches in mouse and human tissue biology models for engineering tissue regeneration and immune recognition of normal and cancer cells.
