We are interested in building, controlling and dissecting biological functions at the molecular and systems levels. Our current main research direction include (i) developing new and improved computational methods for designing proteins with new functions with atom-level accuracy in Rosetta (www.rosettacommons.org), (ii) engineering molecular machines and protein-based devices that sense and respond to new molecular signals in living cells, and (iii) combining computation and experiment to dissect functional consequences of molecular perturbations on cellular behavior.
