BioE Ph.D. Alumna Michella Khine received more recognition for her groundbreaking microfluidics research in Scientific American.Khine, now an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at UC Irvine, has made international news for her innovative use of the childhood toy ShrinkyDinks to create low-cost microfluidic components. Her work was written up in the March 2010 Scientific American article, Thinking Outside of the Toy Box: 4 Children’s Gizmos That Inspired Scientific Breakthroughs.
