Bioengineering Ph.D. students Javad Golji and Mohammad Azimi won 1st and 2nd place awards in the PhD student paper and podium presentation competition at the 2010 ASME Summer Bioengineering Conference, June 15-20, 2010.Golgi’s paper was titled “Focal Adhesion Mechanotransduction: Molecular Events Leading to Vinculin Activation”, while Azimi’s paper was titled “Social Bookmarking and Recommendation Engines in Bioengineering Education”.
Both students conducted their research with Berkeley Bioengineering Associate Professor Mohammad Mofrad.
