Bioengineering graduate students founded a new program called Future Scientists that provides technical education to resource-poor communities.
Future Scientists traveled to the Peruvian Amazon in August as part of their pilot program to test their new approach to global aid. They worked with an orphanage to install solar panels and teach hands-on science lessons on microscopy, solar power, water purification, and radios. Future projects include traveling to the Amazon to develop a biogas digester and an education program at a local research station and school. Read more about their work at http://futurescientist.org/
