Sarah Nelson, UCSF Professor of Radiology and UC Berkeley Professor of Bioengineering, has been chosen as the new Scientific Directory of QB3 – UCSF.The California Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Research (QB3), a cooperative effort among UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, UC San Francisco, and private industry, harnesses the quantitative sciences to integrate our understanding of biological systems at all levels of complexity – from atoms and protein molecules to cells, tissues, organs and the entire organism.
Nelson will take over the position of Scientific Director on the UC San Francisco campus from biochemist David Agard.
