Sophie Dumont, UCSF Assistant Professor of Cell and Tissue Biology, has been awarded the an NSF CAREER Award, and has also received an NIH New Innovator Award!
The CAREER isĀ the National Science Foundation’s most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
The New InnovatorĀ grant is the largest and most prestigious grant awarded to junior investigators by the NIH, designed to enable recipients to pursue exceptionally innovative approaches that could transform biomedical and behavioral science. Dumont was recognized for her project, “Rewiring Cellular Architecture to Probe Mechanical Signal Processing at Kinetochores.”
